It Was A Blast!
i was asked to give a talk to a bunch of companies yesterday. and a 100+ people turned up. business owners and decision makers. yikes! up to the minute before i gave that talk, i must confess i wasn't all that ready or prepared. i was nervous and listless. blame it on my incredibly over-packed and over-jammed schedule that literally didn't give me my usual prep time for some thing like this.
so prior to my talk, i decided to get out of the talk place and go for a walk just to chill down and get ready. well, started singing the song that has been on everyone's lips of late - "how great is our God, sing with me how great is our God, all will see how great is our God, how great is our God" ... and i started asking God to help me speak in such a way that the greatness of God can be reflected in what i would be doing ... that all will see how great is my God ... in my life, in my work, in my talk. i told God, "Lord, let me git in there knowing that Your Presence is warming up the people and let me speak knowing that my Great God is behind me".
my turn came up. i spoke. i saw people nodding their heads and lips pursed in agreement. speech ended 45 mins later. the panel of speakers sat down to take questions. then the questions came. and almost all were interested to find out what i thot. WOW! God is great! it was so coooooool! i know I AM NOT READY but knowing that He was in there with me gave me the readiness. that little switch in focus from my own inabilities to God's presence with me changed it all!
i learned something simple and profound yesterday - that God is always with us - in our lives, our work, our studies ... our challenge is to become aware of His company ... it changes everything we do. "Do not fear, for I am with you ..." Is 41:10 ¶ 11:31 AM

it is true mich and mingying. to let go and let God and that no event is insignificant in Him. must tell u my story someday ... God is good :)
