yesterday. pastor peter wong is officially CCMC's PIC. at his sermon y'day, he compared himself to pastors gordon n edwin as in the family of cars. gordon is a camry. established and respectable. edwin is a cefiro (dying to be a mazda rx7). able to cruise, hug the curves and stay smooth. him - a nissan march - small, low powered but will trudge along and find its way. i burst out laughing at his suggestion. he is funnily honest actually. welcome peter to the family. i am sure you will find your way. i will be one of those many roads you would see and use as u drive along. look out for Kim Pong Road. u can actually find it in the road directory also. :)  ¶ 12:12 PM 3 comments

  then they screamed!!!!

last nite we had our second WTBS - worship team bible study at my place. the gang namely cherz, clar, ash, pris, xinmin, yiling, nikki, lala, nic, mel, ben and goose met at wadever. and i went down n drove them to my pad except for ben and goose, who sadly were a tad big too join in the 11 of us in my toyota picnic. squeeze like siao! but i am nice lah. dropped the gang off and went back to pick the other 2 big men.

we r planning to "finish off" the book of James by the holidays. for last nite, we did James 1:1 -11. not bad, i thot, for a start. talked about faith, trials, temptation, joy, happiness, endurance, wisdom from God and being steadfast and single-minded.

besides bible study, we learned something else. never let nic and pris sit together. they are scary. they were literally hallucinating last nite about little clicking sound and people peeping thru windows and all that and priming themselves up for the ultimate scare. and then it happened. my daughter, Ashley, came thru the front door. both nic and pris went berserk n screamed the roof down. they were serious. they really got scared! then before all settled down, my wife walked thru the door and they went bonkers again. this time, nic cried like siao while the rest of us laugh like siao. it was actually quite funny. man, i am so looking forward to OC camp when we are going to get lots of these screams in the nite.

i thank God for the fun last nite and for His Word. rock on gang! :)

  member liao! Last Sunday, i officially became a member of CCMC after 5 years. someone, when praying for me sometime in June, prophesied that i will have a promotion in church this year. well, there! it happened. i m no longer a wanderer wondering if this is it. this IS it. it's my pad now.

my key takeaway in the membership class is an advice from Boehler to Wesley. Wesley asked how he could preach when he himself did not even have the faith. and Boehler said this to him: "Preach faith till you have it; and then, because you have it, you will preach faith." i love this! and i am going to work at it. not just faith. but love, joy, peace, power and all things God.

the last few nites have been rather unusual. have been thinking of suppers on a regular basis. finally succumbed last nite. went to newton and had my "he kiao". very very nice. i can feel it calling me again. might just do it again tonite. :)  ¶ 5:49 PM 1 comments

5 i m musically dyslexic. everything i know about music today, i had to learn it note by note.

yesterday was my birthday. for that, i got a gift, dinner with the wife at Garibaldi's and smses greetings.

a gift: i did not expect this. have not received a birthday present for ages. it was a CD - a labour of love from the youths in OC. thank you peeps. you know who you are. they took my songs and sang, played it the way they knew it and recorded it. plus they sent their greetings. you guyz r beautiful! u have touched me and given God's love to me in a way i never knew could happen.

the dinner: spent a lovely evening with the wife over wine, truffles, risotto, cod and panacotta. absolutely wonderful time! i can see us being in love for eternity. my wife. my treasure. my love. God's gift to me. i love u hon.

the smses: greetings from old faithfuls and a few surprising ones. thank you. your thoughts. my gratitude. His grace.

so did i cry, asked claris. not yesterday. but today, i did ... when i thought about the love that went into the making of the CD ... God is guarding me jealously ... thank you Father.
